Enrollment, Tuition & Cancellations

Class Sessions and Registration

Weekly classes run in two sessions: the school-year session (September–May) and the summer session (June–August). Students must register separately for each session. Enrollment does not automatically carry over to the next session.

Weekday daytime classes, including homeschool classes, pause during the summer to make room for camps. Evening and Saturday classes are offered during the summer session. Please check the summer schedule for available classes and times.

Monthly Tuition and Auto-Pay

Enrollment is month to month—you do not need to commit to or pay for an entire session. Tuition for weekly classes is billed automatically to the card on file on the 1st of each month. Monthly enrollment and billing continue through the end of the current session unless you cancel. Auto-pay ends when the session ends, and students must register again for the next session.

Art supplies and materials used during class are included in tuition unless a class description states otherwise.

Mid-Month Enrollment

Students who enroll after the beginning of a month will have their first month’s tuition automatically prorated based on the remaining classes in that billing cycle.

Cancelling a Monthly Class

To stop the next month’s automatic payment, families must notify Firefly in writing by email before the 1st of the upcoming month. There is no cancellation fee when notice is received by the deadline.

Attendance, Makeups & Weather

Missed Weekly Classes

When a student misses a weekly class, they may attend available Open Studio hours to continue working on their project with the materials available. Open Studio does not replace the instruction missed during the regularly scheduled class. If a student will miss several consecutive classes because of travel or another planned absence, please contact us in advance to discuss available options.

Weather and Studio Closures

If Firefly closes the studio because of weather, we will make every effort to notify class and workshop participants by email, phone, or both at least two hours before the scheduled start time. Affected participants will receive a Firefly Studio Credit for the canceled class or workshop.

Workshop Policies

Workshop Cancellations

Cancellations received at least 48 hours before a workshop qualify for a 100% Firefly Studio Credit. Studio credits do not expire. Cancellations received less than 48 hours before the workshop are non-refundable.

Late Workshop Arrivals

Participants arriving more than 15 minutes after a workshop begins may still participate, but may need to catch up independently while the instructor continues guiding the group.

Weekly Class Policies

Drop-Off

Studio doors open five minutes before class. Please do not drop students off earlier, as instructors need time to prepare the classroom and materials.

Authorized Pick-Up

Students younger than 13 must be signed in and out at the front desk by an adult listed as an authorized pickup person. Firefly may request photo identification before releasing a student.

Weekly Class Visitors

Only registered students may remain in the classroom during weekly classes. This helps students focus, develop independence, and participate fully in instruction. Parents, guardians, friends, and other guests are welcome to wait in the lobby seating area.

Artwork, Ceramics & Storage

Paintings and Drawings

Wet oil and acrylic paintings may remain on the studio’s canvas drying racks between sessions. Finished two-dimensional artwork should be taken home once it is dry.

Ceramic Projects and Firing

Ceramic pieces remain on designated greenware shelves while drying and awaiting firing. Clay is a natural and unpredictable material. Cracks, warping, glaze variations, kiln-related issues, and even complete loss can occur during drying and firing—even when appropriate techniques and studio procedures are followed. For that reason, a finished piece cannot be guaranteed.

Ceramic Completion and Pick-Ups

Finished ceramic pieces are generally glazed, fired, and ready for pickup within two to three weeks. Firefly will send an email when the work is ready. Pieces must be collected within **14 days of the pickup notification**, or within seven days of withdrawing from a class. Ceramic work that remains unclaimed after the applicable pickup period may be recycled or discarded.

Safety, Conduct & Accessibility

Safety and Conduct

Firefly Creative Center is a shared creative space. Students, participants, and guests are expected to treat others, the studio, artwork, tools, and equipment with care and respect. Closed-toe shoes are required in ceramics and other designated activity areas. Firefly may ask anyone to leave if their behavior is unsafe, disruptive, threatening, or damaging to people or property. A refund or credit is not guaranteed when someone is removed for conduct or safety reasons.

Individual Needs and Accommodations

Firefly welcomes students with a variety of abilities and needs. Although our instructors may not have specialized training for every disability or support need, we will consider reasonable accommodations when possible. Please share relevant needs during enrollment—or contact us beforehand—so we can discuss whether the class environment and available support are a good fit.

Liability Waiver

All participants—or a parent or guardian when the participant is a minor—must complete Firefly’s studio liability waiver during online checkout. The waiver applies to participation around studio tools, paints, solvents, equipment, and other art materials.

Photography & Media

Firefly may take photographs or videos during classes, workshops, camps, and events for use in studio communications, promotional materials, social media, and on our website. Participants—or a parent or guardian for minors—will be asked to complete a media release during registration. Please contact Firefly before participating if you have questions or preferences regarding photography.

Privacy

Firefly respects your privacy and does not sell personal information. We use contact and registration information to process enrollment and payments, communicate about programs, and provide requested services. Information may be shared with trusted service providers when necessary to operate our programs, process payments, or comply with the law. Participants may unsubscribe from promotional emails at any time. Enrollment, payment, safety, and schedule-related communications may still be sent when necessary.
